Sacramental Programs

POLICY FOR FIRST RECONCILIATION, FIRST EUCHARIST

A vital part of our Catholic experience is the sharing in the Sacraments.  According to the Catholic Church’s teachings, a Catholic parent, has an obligation to provide religious education for their children.  The church teaches that religious education begins at home and is the responsibility of the parent to provide moral education and spiritual formation.

  • Students at SSCM School participate in a two year preparation program beginning in 1st grade for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.
  • The Sacramental preparation program is a partnership between the parents, students, school, and parish.
  • The Sacrament of Baptism is required before a student can receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
